Why even bother with stablecoins?
In which I explain how this whole website came to be.

I could have done anything. I could have learned to fly a plane, jump on the AI bandwagon or just put my money in a managed fund. I also have a fairly busy life. So why in the world would I choose to dedicate my time and mental energy to stablecoins?
To better understand this, we need to go back in time, specifically to the end of 2015 when for the first time I hear Imogen Heap talk about the blockchain. Smart as she is, she was talking about a future in which artists' rights could be managed directly and made very granular (i.e. if you're a private person, you can do this, if you're a small business you can do that). Her vision has not yet turned into a reality, but I was sold on the concept.
Unfortunately though, the blockchain ended up swallowed by bitcoins. The cryptobros moved in and the whole idea became synonym with money laundering, posturing and toxic masculinity in general. So I chose not to engage, regardless of the soaring values of some cryptocurrencies and the technological advances in this area.
A change of mind was brought about by the most unlikely of sources, Donald Trump. Or, to be more specific, an Economist article discussing the Genius Act. And I like Donald Trump as much as the next person, but as the old adage says, even a broken clock is right twice a day. So, as in the year 2025 I am a much different person than I was in 2015, having now spent years earning my bread managing risk, I will have to admit that passing the Genius Act was not a bad thing for the Trump administration to do. I therefore hit the books and started digesting everything about bitcoins, DeFi and Web3. And along the way, a thought popped in mind. What if the narrative could be changed? What if it could be wrestled away from the cryptobros and all the wrong things they have done with it? She's Actually Stable wants to do just that. To show the safe and reliable side of digital currencies. To take you by the hand and lead you to a place where you can make decisions on your finances with all the knowledge you need. I ask you to keep an open mind, as when people think of finance they don't usually think of women. In exchange, I promise to make it worth your while.
Until next time,
StableSis
